Bounce bounce bounce. Woman declines repairs

Saw a bad accident happen once, and I'm pretty sure it was b/c of shocks (or one bad shock - hard to tell, it was one of those 80s Cavaliers with a solid rear axle at the back). Weekend evening, 403-to-QEW onramp headed westbound. Moderate amount of traffic by Toronto standards, so everyone was going pretty quick, but heavy enough that both lanes were full.

I noticed the guy's right-rear tire bouncing like crazy and his rear end, especially the right side, having a decent amount of bounce to it as well. We're both in the left lane and there's traffic in front and around us, with a semi behind me.

It's a relatively gentle left-hand turn, but we were going well above 100kph. He must have hit a bump in the pavement or maybe an oil slick (probably a bump) and his rear end came out. He spun right into the wall, I passed him, he bounced/rolled/drove back off the wall and right in front of the semi. I'm not sure how hard the semi hit him (I was looking in the rear view at the time and didn't want to stop b/c there was traffic coming from the right lane), but I saw pieces of car flying everywhere. I heard there was one person hospitalized, but no idea how serious.
