Boy, 11, accused of killing 8-year-old neighbor with shotgun because she would not show him her puppy

Yes I have. In fact I'm working on two right now. Perhaps it's the training that I've had influencing me in terms of my reaction. But the willful act of retrieving a firearm alone, child or not, shows to me that the kid wanted to kill. Whether or not it was with a gun or a knife is inconsequential, in it's simplest terms. The child knew that pulling that trigger would kill. Even animals know guns kill. If any animal could understand that why wouldn't a human child? What could the kid possibly have thought would happen after pulling that trigger? This was a human being that had issues. You do not out of the blue decide to kill someone or something, with the exception of at the MOST a bug, if you have a rational state of mind. Which leads back to the point I made at the end of my post. This was obviously the act of an irrational mind, but a mind nonetheless that realized that the easiest way to kill someone given the situation was a gun. No, I don't believe that someone, anyone, even a child could possibly believe that there was any other outcome from shooting someone other than killing that person. I understand that children at times cannot be held culpable for their actions, but in my opinion this is not one of those instances. The child wanted to kill and used the best available tool at his disposal. If the child wanted to kill, but did not have access to a firearm, the intent was in his mind and he would have carried out the action in any manner he could have. Again this is the effort of trying to rationalize an irrational act by an irrational act and trying to do so is futile. In addition, while it bothers me in the least bit, I will say I do not appreciate the effort to try and paint my character in such a light that leads others to believe me to be a irrational person myself. You may disagree with what I have to say, I can appreciate that. Perhaps we may be able to bring one another to somewhat of a middle ground, if not an agreement, with discourse. But to paint me in the light of some crazy person because I said something you do not agree with does not help your argument. To reiterate human beings are rational beings. These actions were those of an irrational being, I.e. a human with issues, to say the least. But thay does not exclude the child from knowing full well what would happen if he were to shoot another human being.
