Brad DeLong: "As one of my friends from a not-rich part of East Asia says: 'Students from my country come to the US these days. They see dirty cities, lousy infrastructure, and an insular people clinging to their guns and their gods who boast about how they are the greatest people in the world...'"

Ironically, if you break it down by race, Hispanics in America live longer lives (81.9 years) than any Latin American country (the closest is Costa Rica at 80.1) and Asians in America live longer than Asians in any Asian country (86.3 vs 84.7 for Hong Kong and 84.5 for Japan). Blacks in America live longer lives (75.0 years) than any majority Black country in mainland Africa (the highest is Botswana, 69.3).

So most racial groups live longer lives in American than in the countries where these racial groups are the majority... it's White Americans who have a poor life expectancy (78.6) compared to most majority White countries in the world (for the EU, it's 81.2).

If America is a white supremacist nation, we fucking suck at it.
