I want to brainstorm the idea that Taiwan should just submit once for all to China mainland, so the world can avoid war

I understand Taiwan is a dissident state for China.

It's not. Taiwan is a sovereign state in all but name, meaning it has a population and a standing force focused on protecting that population against an invasion. There is simply no way China can take Taiwan without a war. The only difference is whether that war involves only China and Taiwan, or whether it involves the rest of the world.

You need to get your theoretical foundations right before you can even discuss the possibilities.

The core conflict is that China wants to take Taiwan, but Taiwan doesn't want to be part of China. There is no institutional approach to peace that doesn't involve at least one side giving up their core interest. There is simply no room for compromise because one side desires the annexation of the other side.

It is as if trying to find a peaceful resolution between Jews and Hitler, and propose that the Jews should just submit to Hitler to avoid war. It's simply not going to happen.
