Brake Pad suggestions for 2008 V8 Vantage

First, don't get the OEM pads. They're terribly expensive, not particularly better at anything, and produce massive amounts of brake dust. When I first got my AMV8, I couldn't even drive from my house to a park a mile away to take a picture without needing to clean the wheels when I showed up.

Shortly after getting my car I did tons of research on this very topic. Pagids aren't bad, but I found a lot of people really liked the Porterfield R4-S pads, so I took the plunge. They work fantastic, and I rarely need to even use wheel cleaner on my wheels. A soap, spray, or wipedown every few hundred miles and they look great and there's seriously 95% less brake dust now. Oh, the OE pads have been known to squeek and make noises at low speeds. Once I put the porterfield's on, NO noise. Smooth stopping with no dust. They've been beyond fantastic.

They're also a lot cheaper than what you were quoted. Stuart at VelocityAP is one of the most knowledgeable people about our cars, and he sells the front and rear sets for about $300 total. You can find them here (or other places online as well):

If you'd like to find more threads about the Porterfields, search 6speedonline or pistonheads and you'll find several threads about them. After dealing with the OEM pads and their noise and their dust, if I ever got another Vantage, I'd immediately swap out the pads for porterfields (and as it has it, a member on 6speed who introduced many to poterfield (and actually helped porterfield develop the pads), karlfranz, bought a brand new 2015 V8GT and the first thing he did was swap in porterfield pads...)
