Brampton Cops...

I will be honest. I have always sided with cops in any story and circumstance when it comes to our countries practice of enforcing. Even with my background knowledge in University on bad practices, I have aided their practice on a regional circumstance.

That thought all went to shits when one night, I was returning home from work. It was a heavy duty 8 Hour shift, and was on the road by 12:40 AM. Cop pulls me over and tells me "I wasted his time, he followed me for approximately 20 minutes, and I have been excessively speeding". Mount Pleasant is where I got pulled over as well. Right across the GO station. The next sentence was, what rate of speed I was going at.

HOLD ON.

I got pulled over for speeding, but the officer questions me on what my rate of speed was. This is understandable, he could not use his radar, therefore he had to have used his judgement. I politely tell the officer, I missed a turn, and in order for me to merge onto the lane, I have probably sped up, and was consistently over 15. He told me to "shut up" and to provide my licence and insurance. He took approximately an hour to write me a ticket. He approached me and charged me. He states: "Before i hand you over this ticket, I'm going to ask you one more time what you were doing". I stuck to the story, which was truthful, as I am pursuing this career, and I was transparent with him that I was as well. He told me once again to Shut Up. Charged me for Careless Driving. Mind you, not speeding. I apologized rather than talking back. When i said sorry, and reached over to grab the ticket, he says arrogantly, "I'll see you in court", I should of suspended your license and impounded your vehicle.

There is two sides to every story. If i were him, i would of pulled me over too due to the confusing lane change and (15 Over) at midnight. However, i wouldn't use my discretion to non-vehicular/person(s)/environment damage and a safe lane but awkward lane change to a careless driving charge. The charge was 490$, 6 Demerit Points.

The rudeness set me over the edge thinking about it until my court date presents itself. I was always a firm believer in treating people how you would like to be treated.
