Brand New Player From Apex

Welcome on board!

Just a quick little rundown of some advice for a new player, it'll help you be much better at the game, especially in the early phases of multiplayer.

First: Find a titan you love to play, and stick with it. Titanfall 2 has a different titans for different types of players, and with this comes a high degree of speciality. However, with this being said, don't be afraid to try new things if you ever see things that interest you, but for the most part you want to find one titan that you like to play, and get very good at it. Titanfall doesn't revolve around team compositions at all, and everyone can more or less be a self-sustaining unit, so don't feel like you have to play a certain way because of your team-mates.

Second: Don't fall into any meta-traps, I can guarantee you that in the first match you join, someone's gonna be running a weapon called a "Spitfire", Basically a LMG. Now while you may not see anything wrong with this, using weapons like this (at least in my experience) has actually sort of restricted what players can do in the game. it binds people to a certain play style, and they never change, or really get better. What i recommend doing, at least for your first dozen or so games, is playing around with weapons. Just like with titans, there's a lot of different weapons for a lot of different playstyles, so find what you like and stick with it. (But as a general rule, try to steer clear of weapons like the Spitfire and Devotion, they're not a good weapon to start with, and will just overall make the game less fun to play.) If you want any suggestions for first weapons, i recommend trying guns like the R-101, the R-201, and the C.A.R SMG, they're all great weapons, provide a challenge to play with, and can be used with great results when you learn how to use them well.

Third: Always keep mobile. One of the largest things that i see new players do is try and play Titanfall like a traditional shooter, I.E, they keep their boots on the ground unless they absolutely have to go upwards. While this can technically be a viable way of playing, it's not a good habit to fall into. Combat in Titanfall is heavily reliant on mobility, I.E, the faster you move, the harder you are to hit, and the less likely you are to die. Not to mention, being able to move quickly will not only help you to avoid getting hit, but will also help you in combat by way of letting you have more maneuverability, so you can be whizzing around the head of your target, raining bullets down from above, and they have no idea how to even track you.

Fourth, and finally: Play your own way. While yes, i know, i did just make a whole book about how you shouldn't play with certain guns or stop moving, but if you do decide to play these ways, don't let anyone stop you. You are the ultimate decision maker, and you hold that power. Do what you find fun, not what other people think you should do.

(Also, be a scorch main. Nobody messes with Big Papa.)

(final, final thing, if you decide to be a Ronin, don't go for melee only, he's a close range titan but that doesn't mean that you should be restricting yourself to his sword attacks, his gun is actually pretty OP.)
