Brand New Player, Looking for Help!

Not the OP, but I have played a LOT of BF4, so I can answer your questions.

*Recoil and accuracy are not the same thing in BF4. Recoil is how much the gun kicks, in any direction. Accuracy is how spread out the bullets you fire are. A weapon can have high recoil & high accuracy, meaning if you're able to control the recoil the weapon will be very accurate. On the other hand, if a weapon has low recoil & low accuracy, you will have a hard time hitting anything at longer ranges due to the spread of your bullets.

*Most ARs (Assault Rifles) are flat out better than the carbines in most situations. M416 is a very versatile AR that you unlock fairly early, and my go-to weapon when I want to win. The AEK is another good AR, with higher rate of fire making it better in CQB (Close Quarter Battle).

*There are 2 kinds of battlepacks, weapon battlepacks and bronze/silver/gold battlepacks.

Weapon battlepacks can only be acquired by using the gun. Opening the battlepack you will find weapon attachments and xp boosts.

Other battlepacks can be unlocked in a few different ways. - Ranking up, you get bronze the first few ranks, eventually upgrading to silver and finally gold. - Purchased with real money. - Through being a premium member, you occassionally get free battlepacks.

These contain random weapon attachments(that you can eventually get through using the weapon), xp boosts, camos for weapons and vehicles, and other minor items for your profile. These battlepacks give in my opinion no advantage in the battlefield. Getting the specific weapon attachments you want through these is EXTREMELY random considering the amount of weapons and attachments in the game.
