Brawl Breaks Out After Two Men Refuse to Wear Face Masks at Target Store

Target is public - the public owns a majority of the company and is open to the public. Your internal logic decided you should use "MUH FEELS" to describe how I related the flu severity and covid19? Lol

Critical thinking aka "internal logic" has been abandoned in the response to COVID.  And economic suicide is being committed in the name of “public health.”   The effects of stay at home orders crafted by our President, governors, and their public health minions are cascading throughout the entire economy.  It’s not just the unemployment figures.  There are many who have had wages, benefits, and working hours cut.  If there’s a silver lining here, it is that it shows just how inefficient and ineffective our government has become.   This so-called pandemic affects a narrow segment of the total population.  The is enough data now to suggest that the death rate from contracting COVID-19 is, at best, probably less than .1 percent of the total population (the data to make the calculation is available at the CDC’s website).  And, the evidence also shows that the overwhelming majority of those who do die have some underlying health problem.   Do they really die from COVID or from the underlying health issue exacerbated by COVID?  And the data in the U.S. is consistent with that from other countries.   So, what’s a poor democracy to do?  Well, the proper role of “public health officialdom” is to inform and advise, not control.  Many people engage in risky behaviors that result in chronic disease, even death.  But we do not quarantine everyone as a result. Rather, the public health establishment advises about the risks and remedies associated with behaviors that lead to chronic illnesses.    Ok, so diabetes and hypertension are not contagious.  Right, but . . .    If we are going to quarantine anyone, it ought to be those folks with underlying health issues, not the general population.  Policy makers should have weighed this against the long-term effects of stay at home on the overall economy.  Are the lives they are trying to “save” today any more valuable than the lives and livelihoods of our children and grandchildren?  Individuals should make informed choices based on data and science, not media hype.  Our government(s) should be providing information, not dictating to us.   I’m not minimizing the seriousness of COVID-19.  But our public health establishment and policy makers ought to take a more measured and thoughtful approach to this.  Currently, we have a “one size fits all” response.

Where your mask as you please, but don't force someone else to do so.
