Other news outlets (read MSM) are incorrectly siting that the Judge granted immunity to the 5 witnesses. That is however, incorrect. All the Judge did was require that the immunity agreements be unsealed.

In the end, this will end very badly for Mueller and Co. Reason: they don't have the authority to grant immunity. Immunity is an executive power/privilege that can only be conferred to principle executive officers. Mueller, lacking Senate confirmation, is not a principle officer. This type of authority is only granted to United States Attorneys, who are, in fact confirmed by the Senate (as are any officer that is conferred executive power by appointment by the President). Mueller is acting as a US Attorney however he isn't one and Rosenstein doesn't have the authority to give him this power, only the President does. And it again, in any even, it requires Senate confirmation.
