The vast majority of infectious diseases get introduced into the human population via animals. Covid 19 morphology is also quite similar to other corona viruses in animal populations endemic to the area. The most educated and reasonable guess is easily that covid 19 crossed species. The opposing argument is a huge, huge claim that is far less likely and would require irrefutable evidence, not theoretical suspicion and purely cerebral virology.
