My in laws are these people. They were still planning on heading across the country in their RV despite the outbreaks, quarantines, and the fact that my MIL WAS SICK LAST WEEK. They've turned around and are headed back home only because their camping reservations were cancelled cause the national parks closed which my FIL ranted about to my husband yesterday. I said, "Look, I'm sorry, I know they're your parents.... but they're being incredibly selfish. And I'm putting my foot down now, if they get bored and want us to come over or want to stop by, the answer is 'no'. " Fortunately he agreed cause he knows they're not going stay home once they get back, they already have plans to spend time with other people!
