I wouldn't get a crossbreed if you want a dog with a good temperament or any particular traits from either breed, it's a total gamble since BYBs/puppy mills don't really worry about temperament or anything other than profits.

I can only speak fo the JS since that's my dogs breed. They don't have a dog smell at all. They aren't high energy like a working dog is, but they are higher energy than toy breeds. They will need to be walked at least once a day, and be mentally stimulated through food puzzles/training etc. They do bark, but only at something, as they are supposed to be alert dogs. So no random barking all day but if someone is at the door they will bark. If that's an issue for you definitely don't get one.
