[Breer] The Niners talked to the Lions but at the time were a little lukewarm and never made an official offer. When things escalated Saturday and the Lions called back, the price was too high because they’re fine going forward with Jimmy Garoppolo. The 12th pick was never offered.

If we get Lance at 12 there will at least be hope for the future.

I get there's a need for another edge rusher. But man at a certain point we really need to make an investment in the most important position.

Also, I'll say it, Lynch and Shanahan are not very good at evaluating defensive lineman. I ain't gonna give them credit for Bosa cause he was just obvious, Thomas was one of the biggest busts like, ever. Didn't like the pick when it happened and it just got worse with time, Jury is still out on Kinlaw but his first year was underwhelming.

I'm just so tired of missing out on generational talent in favor of mediocre defensive lineman.
