Brexit is costing the UK economy £100 billion a year

A conservative take I’ve heard that doesn’t require malice (I believe vast majority doesn’t actively hate the others, just is apathetic)

  • I don’t want to pay for someone else living a carefree life.

  • you should take responsibility for yourself and your family, live conservatively within your means.

  • you play the cards you’re dealt.

  • There are going to be some unfortunates at the end of the spectrum which are going to fall through the cracks. Can’t help everyone

  • sometimes you gotta go, even if it is me. The super expensive care options are aptly named. There is quite a bit of nihilism in conservative principles - comes with ‘take care of yourself’

  • smaller government. We need govt for public infra and military only.

  • nhs sucks for non emergency care: this is the most common thing for many of us. If I am going to handle that anyway - why bother.

Fwiw - all of these have answers that involve caring for others. I am just listing things I’ve been reading. I also don’t live in the uk.
