Agreed 100%. People take it too far but come on...anyone who REFUSES to see what people are critisizing or at least be able to recognize it are virtue signaling.

She's pretty boring facial expression wise. No I don't think she should be "smiling" - anyone who says that is dumb. She should look less "bored at the grocery store" and more "angry and super hero kick-ass"

The one scene where she punches the guy got me a little fired up. But a lot of the other scenes she just looked....idk bored?

I want more emotion. I want to see her struggle. This isn't about her not smiling on the cover, it isn't about her being a woman (Wonder Woman fit perfectly, forget the actresses name but she was perfect fit) but Brie Larson just reminds me of basic white chic in suburbia...

I don't know 100% why, but her acting and facial expressions don't feel "Super hero" to me. Again - nothing about her being a woman, I felt 100% differently about Wonder Woman. I felt the same way about the new "Jack Ryan" - which I haven't watched yet and will save my FINAL judgement for when I watch it, just like I will with Cpt Marvel - but That Actor from "The Office" just doesn't scream "bad ass secret agent army man" to me. He just doesn't come across that way to me and Jack Ryan instantly turned me off a bit because of that. Again - I do need to actually watch it and officially judge it then, same with cpt marvel.

But there IS something to be said about "type casting" and the immediate "feel" an actor gives you in a role. I think Brie Larson isn't the perfect choice for cpt Marvel and that's where it's all coming from. Is she a BAD choice? No she may kill it and I could be wrong. But obviously me and others feel something "off" with her being in the role and its hard to describe but its there. I don't think its "because she's a woman" or "Because she isn't smiling"

She just, for now on an initial judgement of the trailer, doesn't have that "super hero" vibe.
