Story time, in Logan West Virginia a man had just cashed his paycheck at the local Walmart. Somebody watched this guy cash his paycheck and followed him out to his car. He then proceeded to rob him at knife point. As the guy was running away, the victim pulled a gun and shot him in the back of the head. The victim was charged with murder. The charges were later dismissed because of the massive media attention but they were dropped without prejudice meaning they could be brought back up in the future. Just as a side note he was treated as a criminal throughout the whole ordeal including home confinement until things got sorted out. The man Jesus Canul, was absolutely full of regret and the guy just about had a breakdown over it. WV is a stand your ground state, and to him, in the heat of the moment that's what he was doing, protecting his property. If the media hadn't gotten involved I know without a shadow of a doubt he would have been charged and convicted. Source: My dad was his co-worker
