Part of the reason why China became so big in the first place was because many companies in the western world sent cheap labour overseas to countries such as China and China is by far the biggest country when it comes to overseas labour and it's important for big names like Hollywood and many big clothing brands .
Many believed that China would eventually turn democratic and capitalistic if it received money but in reality it has become more communist and authoritarian.
It's also the economic power that China has that is the biggest threat it has at it's disposal but China does have an Achilles heel and it lies in it's trading routes .
If the western world including Europe and America unites against China and cuts it's trading ties then China will be weakened and more isolated from the outside world.
Cheap labour may be profitable to companies but that is where the good parts end and the bad things start and those do include issues such as human rights abuses and low pay.
Part of the reason why China is targeting specifically Muslims is because China is ruled by communism and in general communism is anti religion and as we all know China has no tolerance for dissidents and people who do not fit in.
There has been attacks by Uigur extremists but these have been relatively few and by a small minority of the Uigur population,and as a result it only strengthens the common belief that uigurs are criminal and lazy.
Xi also wants han Chinese to dominate which is the majority of Chinese people , this echoes of Nazi Germany policies where the ethnic Germans were seen as the superior race and other races such as Jews or Black people were seen as inferior and one of the only differences between China and the former Nazi Germany is ideology where the other is communist and the other one nazist .
It's a scary world right now especially during the coronavirus pandemic but China is a much bigger threat that is trying to take advantage of the pandemic while it assumes other countries are not watching but luckily more countries are becoming aware of the threat China poses such as America or Australia .
The biggest problems preventing Europe from standing up against China is in the problem filled EU where countries such as Poland and Hungary are causing problems but the EU itself also has major issues which I am not going to go over right now.
I agree with you in some parts. I think I should give my views though this may make me in danger. In China , there are 56 ethnic groups, and most of people are Han ethnic. Other 55 ethnic groups people pay less taxes, have extra marks in the Entrance Examine to the university. And i am a college student. In my daily life there are just a few persons i know which is from different ethnic groups, and they live a life like Han ethnic, without discrimination. I believe it is hard for foreigners to understand what happened, is happening in China. In 1900s, there was still a emperor who lead the whole country. At that time the USA had been in the democratic for centuries. And i watch a video about Xinjiang that says the salary there was about $30 a day. that is really ridiculous. that even can not happen in almost all of province of China that a normal person with no skills to earn $30 a day. There may be something bad happening , but I think it is not slavery. The main problem is poverty, many people there have no money ,no jobs, and no education. I have several friends living in Xinjiang and they all give a good assess to local government, not forced, just talk between friends. it is hard for me and most Chinese to know what the government don't want to tell us, so if you disagree with me, please give me some links for more information.
