Britons Respond to Trump Attack on UK Healthcare - 'Nobody Here Would Trade for What America Has': "In Britain, the poor don't need to win the lottery to afford medical care."

Apart from the outrageous costs, US healthcare also seems to hate diagnosing people or caring about them at all. My dad went to the hospital in severe pain, and he's a big guy, he's not normally like that, but he was in tears. The nurse kept accusing him of being an alcoholic, said it was because he drinks alcohol. He never drinks. They told her this. She didn't listen. They left him there for 2 hours and periodically checked back in to "see if he would tell the truth". They never gave him any care at all. He finally passed a kidney stone while at the hospital and felt better. They charged him a couple grand for doing nothing except accusing him of being an alcoholic??

Now another case is popping up within my own family - my step mom's brother. He had breathing issues (smoker) and went to the doctor, got given oxygen to help him sleep, no other tests or anything. They did nothing. Well, couple weeks ago he's having nose bleeds nightly for 3-4 hours. He went to the same doctor, and they told him it was dry air from winter. He went to the hospital after that bullshit, and they diagnosed him with lung cancer, nothing they can do. It went up into his neck, and now he's going to die. I can't help but wonder... if that first doctor hadn't just given him oxygen and actually TRIED running a single fucking test or checking on his health, maybe he would have had a chance. Sure, he's a smoker, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't get healthcare when he goes in with a problem.

And then there's my grandpa who was in the hospital, contracted MRSA from a nurse who failed to properly wash her hands. Like come on. My family actually refuses to go to the hospital or a doctor because they just charge you an arm and a leg and don't do shit for you. You're literally better off staying at home, self-diagnosing.

Sorry. End rant.
