Brock BAcc vs Waterloo AFM

From what I remember, AFM was not math heavy at all. I had a 91 in advanced functions and a mid 80 for Calculus and found MATH109 to be a breeze. Got high 90s in both mid-terms, final was a bit challenging, but still came out with an 80 (meaning I literally bricked the final). Accounting isn't very math intensive, it's more about logic and understanding the implications of financial decisions. I had friends that struggled a bit in math in high school who got into AFM still doing fine. Everyone will tell you that the math in AFM is a joke. However, as Ghost pointed out (who seems to be someone in first year), they're changing the courses, so I can't really comment.

One point of your question I forgot to address is the social life. I don't think AFM kids are that competitive tbh, maybe in first year when everyone wants to get into the Big 4, but as soon as its second year, no one gives a shit and realizes that a job is only a job, and everyone is a lot more chill. AFM kids become a lot more bareable too once you're at that point. I really enjoyed my first year and although I found it to be a bit competitive, it pushed me to get the grades and work hard in a positive way.

It's a bit ironic because AFM has a reputation of being a snake program, so it's kind of a big diss to call someone a "snake" in the program, so people go out of their way to not be labelled as a snake. I think the most snake thing I've heard someone do is not share past year mid-terms or test banks, but that's not really snake and happens in literally every business program.
