Public school curriculums work for brainwashing people in either of them. Besides if you look the lives and ideas of many great artists, regardless of medium, you'll be surprised to see a whole lot of them have Marxist world views. Individuality is an annoyance for any totalitarian system. Not exactly for communists. Actually, if you cared to read about it socialist idea has that once the worry for worldly things are taken care of art and free spirited works flourish. Renaissance patronage system paved the roads which led to today's modern society.

let me fix that for you:and has resulted in the most free societies ever seen in the history of the world for a minority of fortunates and through imperialism led to unprecedented human suffering which still continue today away from the pretty countries of those people. (and even in those countries where even more fortunate of them won't see unless they look for it specifically)

So people who call capitalism evil while praising communism seem somewhat odd to me.

Capitalism in its essence: Money>people. Communism in essence Person=person< People. So of course capitalism is so devastatingly evil. I think most of you guys mix that up with democracy which is not related to capitalism. You can have democracy and not capitalism or controlled capitalism. Democracy is good. Capitalism bad. Communism is good on paper. What is the best thing humans achieved so far? Democracy run by social governments.
