Brussels demands EU citizens in UK for five years get permanent right to stay as Brexit stance toughens

Not really. I think some MPs said so but then T.MAY said everything was on the table, up for bargaining. It's a pretty good chip for UK, as the EU really has a lot of people there, specially Poles (about 900k).

Citizen's right is the #1 priority for Brussels tho. And London seams to agree / is concerned for its own citizens in the EU so it will probably be one of the first thing in the negociation.

Not an easy topic tho. Spain has 350 000 British retirees who probably needs more healthcare than the average dude. How will it be settled between both?

Brussels also said Britishs living in the EU could keep doing so, if they would pay some kind of an annual EU tax.

Now, The UK can't accept its citizens to be taxed and/or pay a nifty sum each years for their citizen's in Spain and not ask for something for it.

I wouldn't be surprised that they ask for some of the poorest / less diplomed to leave the country. In the end, that's just what they want, filter immigration.

Australia works like this already, if you have the diplomas / are a needed worker / got money you can stay. If you don't make less than X ammount of money after 2 years, goodbye, you're asked to leave.

My guess is the problem for people moving there will happens after the UK is out of the EU. Untill then, they can't ask you to leave. That's the whole reason of the Brexit really.
