Buddy Sent Me This Build. Any Constructive Criticism?

I didn't go against it, if your friend needed a DVD drive you would know as he would have a DVD collection or something similar and I assumed - perhaps incorrectly - that you would have the nous to mention such a thing, as you mentioned not such a need then I concluded that he does not have any need for a DVD drive and said so. It was perhaps lazy of me to not say that - opting for the shorthand of saying that he does not need that - assuming that if he did you - as his friend - would know if he had a specific need for a DVD drive and mention it or you wouldn't in which case he does not need it. It was perhaps incorrect of me also to opt for a offhand refutation of the parts, namely the CPU and motherboard, however that does not neccesitate your toxic response when my only aim with doing so was to offer you and - by transitivity - your friend some advice.

As you were dissatisfied by my original response I apologise, I shall rephrase it as follows:

Given no mention of your friends specific need for a DVD drive I doubt it is necessary to purchase one.

I would change the parts list to this: Dropped to a locked Haswell i5 and H97 mobo, to achieve the unlocked nature of the SB 3570k you need a Z board and a K CPU which would cost more than the budget allows, added SSD, swapped the 970 for the more powerful but power hungry 390
