Budget watchdog says reformed fiscal stabilization program will cost Ottawa $4.5 billion

Which is why, when you're in the middle of one of the biggest economic booms in a century, with record high tax revenues, you don't decide it is a good time to launch deficit spending campaigns.

Stephen Harper celebrated cutting the GST immediately before 2008. In fact, if you look back at how much the cuts were projected to cost and then compare it to what happened to the federal debt since then, you can see how much the GST cuts are directly responsible for our budget problems post-2008. The cuts were a massive fiscal failure, no matter how popular. Their negative impact is still felt on the federal budget. This crisis’ spending may finally fix the problem by reversing them.

Like your other post, I appreciate your concern about the federal finances but I would strongly encourage you to base your comments in facts instead of political propaganda.
