Hello Lords Subreddit Ive been working on personal lore and this is one of my newer project that I haven’t finished.

It doesn’t have much to do with the Lords directly and its more of a creation myth but it sets up everything that happens in my homeland and hints at the ancestry of the Lords :)

The Tale of The Hundred Heroes:

In the beginning, before dwarves elves and gnomes, the Gods made 1 mortal being to settle the world. When the Gods set the being opens the earth they were set upon by monsters and evil creatures. The Gods had hoped that they would be able to defeat the monsters without help from them but they failed to. To save their people the Gods created 100 heroes to defeat the monsters and drive them back.

To account all of the deeds of these heroes would take more book than lie in the world but when it was done, and the heroes put down their arms as evil was driven to the corners of the world, the Gods realized the one flaw in their plan. While the Gods gave the heroes the means to defeat the evil they realized the heroes would pass this skill down to their children. This, while seemingly harmless, would upset the balance of the world as there would surely be countless descendants, they devised a new plan. The Gods forsaw that the heroes would be need at the time of the End but could not allow them to run free on the earth. To do what needed to be done, The Gods gave the Heroes one last task.

The Gods, ever cunning and wise, sent the heroes to the Island of Aybyononyonbt, one of the last bastions of evil. On this island lies one lonely mountain where a piece of the evil that raveged the world slept. The Gods opened the way for the heroes and once they entered the heroes greatest challenge began. For seven long years the heroes fought the evil but to no avail. Eventually, Rodgar Avstar leader of the heroes, and the most cunning of them devised a plan to end it. Leading his company deep into the mountain slaying monsters as they went they reached the heart of the evil. A gate to another world from which the monsters first arrived, and from which their master, a horror so great that no mortal could face it alone, commanded them.

While the heroes new that entering the portal would mean death, they instead closed it, cutting the monster off from there master. After the gate was shut the heroes fled as they had gone to deep and the monsters were in hordes containing millions. The as the heroes retreated and the mountain shook, the Gods watched, but did not intervene. As the cavern was filled with the sounds of death and earth around them shook, the gate to the mountain collapsed, sealing the heroes in. Once the heroes reached the upper cavern and saw that the way was shut, the fell into despair and prayed for help from the Gods. The Gods, hearing there plea, ignored them for they knew that the heroes line must be kept away from the outer world until it was needed once more. And while the heroes eventually settled down and started a new life under the mountain, the gods sat content as there plan had worked and began to wait for the coming trouble that they knew would come. What had escaped them, however was that before the final charge, some of the heroes had left the island to return to their families. These four heroes fate is unknown, but it is said that they founded a city far to the east of the great mountain.

… I did not enjoy writing that so quickly ;-;. Okay so I doubt this is eligible and even if it is I doubt it will win as I spent about 30 mins on it but… Meh.

As a side not the master of evil mentioned is a reference to that thing that Deadbones worked for, and the four heroes founding a city is a reference to Camelot and the bloodline of the lords.
