970 vs 390: At 1080p, it's a toss up and comes down to brand preference. At 1440p, the 390 pulls ahead. Additionally the 390 has so far shown to have improved performance with DX12 compared to the 970.

I don't like the G1 PSU. They're... eh, priced more than how good they are.
The Cooler you have is great, but also realistically overkill.
