Bungie, casual gamers can become hardcore Destiny gamers when you give them something to sink their teeth into.

Yep. You and me both. I was never a gamer.

When I was little I never had live, so I'd do the story campaigns every Christmas form the new games I got; by New Years I was done.

Then in high school I played Fifa, and that's it. For like an hour a day, usually against my friends. Online? Nah. Manager Mode? No way. The only game I actually played "like a gamer" was Assassins Creed, and even then, just the story. Never went back once the campaign finished.

In college I sold my console and kinect. Video games were a thing of the past for me. Time to be an adult, and focus on other things.

But then after graduation, I get a message from on of my old roommates. "Check out this new game coming out next week. You've probably seen the commercials for it on ESPN."

Knowing it'd be a way to still keep the friendship alive, I bought a used xbox one. Went down to Gamestop the day of release and bought Destiny. Killed the Black Heart. Slayed Atheon. Stabbed a bitch with his own blade. Killed the Kell of Kells. Defeated the Taken King. Avenged the Iron Lords. Squished a spider. Killed the Michelin Man. Woke up the Traveler.

Ended D1 with a Grimoire Score of 5570. Anything and everything I could do in the game, I did. It was an experience with a game that I haven't had before.

Destiny turned me into a gamer because of the experience it gave me. As a casual gamer, had I been given a casual game, I would have moved on within a week. Destiny gave me something to always come back for, and I liked the fact that others had stuff I didn't have. I liked that they were more powerful. Because I wanted to be like them. I was bad, and it drove me to become better.
