Bungie has done a really good job with the free anniversary stuff..

That would be favouritism and the choice would be entirely out of the hands of the consumer.

There is also the question of who is more loyal? The player who played since D1 or pre-Shadowkeep D2 for an inconsistent amount of time, possibly taking months off on more than one occasion, or the player who has frequently played it for a year or two, with breaks only lasting a few days at max. It would also cause divisions in the community as many would be understandably upset that they have to pay for what others are getting for free.

Players were given a free dungeon and a free armour set with Prophecy. No one expected a season to launch with a free dungeon. The Daito armour was originally intended to be Eververse armour for Arrivals but was put into Prophecy as an apology for payed content themed cosmetics being put into Eververse instead of the activities they are themed around. The Divinity themed ship and sparrow were put in Eververse instead of Garden of Salvation. The Hidden Swarm themed Ghost, ship and sparrow as well as Worthy’s Scarlet Keep themed ship and sparrow were put into Eververse instead of being available through Shadowkeep content. This is why Arrivals had no Eververse armour and why the cosmetics since Arrivals have no connection to the story or expansion/seasonal content, unlike cosmetics from Undying, Dawn and Worthy. It honestly is unrealistic to expect them to make 2 dungeons free in a row, especially when they are getting free raids every year now thanks to D1 raids being brought into D2.

The OP of this thread is being criticised because they come across as entitled, expecting Bungie to give them to give away the 30th anniversary pack for free alongside the weapons, including an exotic, and activity they are given already. Free players already get an exotic every season. In Arrivals they could get 2 out of 3 seasonal exotics. In Splicer they could get all two of the seasonal exotics that paying players could get. Yet Splicer still cost the same amount as season where there was an exotic exclusive to paying players.

Would it have been nice of Bungie, yeah, but totally unrealistic.
