Bungie, you’re out of your mind if you think I deserve a penalty for leaving a match in progress.

No they don't. Only ranked/comp modes do that. Literally no game punishes you for leaving casual game modes.

And my problem with it is Bungie doubling down on bad changes. The huge uptick in quitting came about with SBMM and laggy lobbies. And their penalties do nothing to impact actual comp modes anyway.

This was my flawless match for Trials this past weekend. Loaded in 1v3 and got punished for leaving. My choices were to get my ass handed to me or leave and save 10 minutes of my life.

Got nothing against quitter penalties personally, but that's just Bungie being lazy and punishing players rather than fixing their own game. I'd rather see Bungie fix their servers and shitty netcode before punishing players for leaving bad lobbies.
