Because nothing is free these days. All these kinda free apps only want one thing, your data. Like pages on Facebook? Free apps on Android/IPhone? All collecting data to be sold in bulk. Your details are word a few cents but what if I have details of 100.000 people?

It's sad but there is something you can do, realizing that if something online is too good to be true then it's probably wanting something from you. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist but it's sad that I need to install 5 plugins in my browser just to make sure that 722 companies stop watching every single mouse click.
