"But it's a dry heat ... "

I got one that was rated for a larger space than I was using it in when my AC was out earlier this summer during the first heat wave, in which the hottest days only reached about 106 here in Roseville but were mostly around 102. It didn’t make much of a difference in my comfort level. My search was limited to Home Depot and Lowe’s so I’m sure it wasn’t the best model on the market, but I did comb over the specs and reviews for just about every available option at those two stores before deciding on that one. I ended up returning it before my AC was even fixed and just getting a couple of oscillating fans that added up to a quarter of the price.
