Buyers who send idiotic low-ball offers? What do they want to do? Tease?

I’ve turned off offers on all my listings.

Buy it now + offers = buyer wants to haggle like it’s a swap meet, use offers to circumvent restrictions, scam, etc.

Buy it now = buyer either wants it or they don’t (might still scam, but less frequently judging by this forum and my experience). I know what price I want to get and where my break even is. If I’m not selling at the price I want I can lower the price.

This is a side hustle for me though, so selling quickly is not important. I have all the time in the world to wait to get the price I want. Someone trying to put food on the table with eBay might want offers for quick sales, even at reduced profit just for the cash flow. In that case, set “reject below” at your minimum desired profit level.

In all cases, be prepared for messages about “what’s the best you can do on this item” or “ill buy it right now for 50% of your ‘asking’ price”. Just block these people- they’re up to no good.
