Is buying a house in the next 6 months a terrible idea?

Yep, bought my first house in 2015 and sold in 2019 for a $60k profit after fees. Beat investment I've ever made.

That was in the booming market though. This year, this is a scary year now. I'm not a pro but I'd guess the average house price is going to decrease, probably less so in thriving areas like TX, but still decrease by a hefty sum.

I'm in the same boat now thinking of whether to buy or keep renting, which is why I'm a month late to this thread. Started talking to a realtor today and she said she's already started to see the market pick up a bit since things started opening up again this month. But who knows what's going to happen next month.
