Buying a house in Plateau?

Forgot to mention but also wanted to echo somewhat what a user from the Ottawa sub posted on your thread, that there are a ton of condos and semi-detached houses in the plateau (and aylmer) and more are slated to be built in the future (very high supply) since there's still a lot of undeveloped land in the area.

It's something to keep in mind if or when you decide to sell the place, since so many condos and semi's are constantly for sale in the area. I wouldn't expect a big price appreciation of the condo or semi you'd be buying, and it might be difficult to sell in the future (not sure what your time horizon for the place is, and where you see yourself living in the long term, something to keep in mind and to think about).

Detached houses are in shorter supply and thus tend to go up in value over time (more so than the condo's in the area) but are quite a bit more expensive; something to think about if you saw yourself upgrading in the future. If looking to buy a condo for the long term though, I wouldn't really worry about it.
