You just spelled out one of the biggest issues US has with China, unequal trade.

We got in this mess because China can afford to sell cheap, and we put ourselves out of business by buying more from China than we produce ourselves. Effectively, US consumers are turning a blind eye to the conditions the Chinese labor face daily. That's immoral. Chinese products shouldn't be as much of our imports. Not 10% let alone 70. Our allies should have preferential trade deals, not communist China. In the least case, China needs to import American products on par. It's also immoral that we get PPE, medicines, military parts, and at one time we were even having military uniforms, and consumer grade American flags made in China. It also came to light, last year I think, that military pensions were investing in China which helped to build up the Chinese military. That was stopped immediately, but who thought that was remotely a good idea or patriotic? What if we ever went to war with China, or a Chinese ally that China would support militarily, and needed materials like lead, steel, concrete, rare earth minerals, whatever it may be, and since we import a lot or most of it from China, can't get it in our time of need. Unprepared militarily is dangerous, and immoral, if not sheer, inexcusable stupidity.
