BWF Daily Discussion and Beginner/RR Questions Thread for 2018-07-19

Quick question, so I am on a clean bulk and drink some whey protein shakes to get to my recommended amount of protein. I am for 126g of Protein with a weight of 79kg.

Now I read that 1.6 per KG is optimal and one of the lower borders of protein consumtion. My question just is, what does "optimal" even mean? Would that mean with that amount I am peaking with muscle production or does it just mean I am a little faster than with 1.2g per kg? From my expierence as a beginner it shows that I dont need that much protein to build muscle but from a science standpoint it tells me that to build muscle I need to hit at least 1.2 - 1.6g per kg to build muscle. Because protein is used to generate muscle and if there is none then there is nothing to work with. I hope someone can me enlighten me in this matter. Thank you very much!
