C++ app to be taken seriously?

Yeah, I get that a lot. All the self-taught help sites are aimed at web developers. In all honestly, I just don't enjoy web. I hope to one day get into either cybersecurity or machine learning one day but I know those two are still far off for me. Still, I want a C++ job because it's a more down and dirty language (low level) which I enjoy.

I don't really have a focus yet, I love programming and want to make money off it so I can spend most my days learning so I market myself as a generalist that can easily adapt (I can understand other languages). I'm looking for any programming job really but I've never learned web and it's so stack based, I would have spend months again learning to make a portfolio.
