Calgary doesn't make short list for Amazon HQ2

idk, it's pretty easy to compartmentalize personal benefits from shady practices, I think.

I like chocolate, but slave labor is clearly wrong. So, I get chocolate from companies not under the umbrella of Nestle. The market's broad enough that I can choose to do that.

Would having Amazon HQ here be good for employment? Sure. But I'm not convinced it would be an immediate benefit for the city if we had to give up what others are offering. It would present the image of Calgary being diversified, but wouldn't companies following Amazon expect the same perks? I can't imagine it would be a responsible prescedent to set. What would happen to personal taxes or infrastructuretructure as a result?

(Legitimately curious. Perhaps someone with greater insight could provide me some perspective. I went to a two-year college based on it's bus ad.)
