Definition of narcissistic: excessive or erotic interest in oneself and one's physical appearance.

 

He believes he will be the president and a multibillionaire. He has a list of qualifications to be his girlfriend including: royalty, billionaire, 6 minute mile time, 99.9 percentile of attractiveness at the least, extreme fitness including ability to do at least 25 pull ups, and the list goes on. Not only that, but he is left dumbfounded when his relatives jest him for this "application."

 

Spotting a sociopath: Washington Post RED FLAG #1. Having an oversized ego. RED FLAG #2. Lying and exhibiting manipulative behavior. RED FLAG #3. Exhibiting a lack of empathy.

This is the kid who wants to dominate the world when he "inevitably becomes president" and his first plan is to annex Mexico and Canada.

 

Also, you praise psychologists as some sort of all-knowing fountain of knowledge and expertise. This is completely out of touch with reality. Rates of misdiagnosis for psychiatric conditions like ADHD, bipolar, anxiety, and depression, average out to around 60%. Further, such errors are thought to contribute to 10 percent of patient deaths and 17 percent of adverse events in hospitals. (NYT) I have a fairly extensive knowledge of neuroscience and psychology (not a doctor) because it has been a large interest of mine for several years, and I am confident that a psychologist would have at best, a slightly higher accuracy then me at diagnosing mental disorders.
