California Just Got One Step Closer To Recognizing A Third Gender

Thank you for that. And that is part of my concern, just random encounters with law and stuff like that. Heres a question, what if they dont identify as non binary? My personal view is that why cant we just redesign restrooms to be singular? Like just wall off stalls and put in mini sinks and stuff like that? I think its still legal of course for them to use that restroom, but its complicated.

Heres my conundrum: I'm worried about the treatment of transgender individuals and issues like addressing dysphoria (sp?) Because I happen to know a kid in high school who is transgender and my brain cant help but wonder if they are going to be OK throughout their life. Its not the public's job to confront these people so I think that website is an important resource. Perhaps its a stigma situation? The high suicide rates in the community, do you know of any information on that? Like, what any of the causes might be?

I agree we should protect these people from harm and if a non binary restroom would help with that then why not do it? Or my idea where we get rid of bathrooms for different sexes and just make them all unisex? Lol put up signs that say, "Remember to be cleanly while using the restroom. I dont know! But its something I'm interested in because its an oddity to me. How it happens and why and how to address it in a legal way because I'm a law nerd really lol.

Thank you for your help.
