Call Richmond’s MLK Day gun rally what it was: An outbreak of terrorism on American soil | Will Bunch

There were actually quite a lot of black demonstrators as well.

No, there were a few. The rally as a whole was disproportionately white when compared to Virginia or America. Let's not get crazy.

Let’s not forget how crucial 2A was to the Black Panther movement, who wanted to ensure that the government never strips the right to bear arms from black citizens.

It's been over 30 years since the Panthers disbanded. It was mostly west coast and afaik it didn't operate in Virginia. It also has a peak membership that was below 10,000. In this discussion it's a complete red herring and an old one at that.

It’s such a disingenuous smear and shows you have no idea how rural America really is.

What the fuck does that even mean? 20% of America lives in rural areas. Rural America is also shrinking in most places and struggling to attract immigrants. So 4/5th of America deals with a whiter 1/5th that has way more electoral power than it should and wields it like a fucking idiot. The very places that badly need immigrants are anti immigrant, I can't even.

As someone from a rural Southern town outside of Austin I can also say that most rural Americans are Fox News watching idiots who act against their best interests. Not all of them but the ones in power sure are.

Do they march when their healthcare is attacked and rural Americans are literally dying? No. Do they march when the rights of minorities get trampled by the state? No, they generally support it. Oh but threaten even basic gun control and here they are, marching proudly in their diabetes boots and waving their guns.

The rest of America is all too aware of rural America.
