Called out a player on always being a special snowflake, raised a good question

Well I would define a human fighter as normal. It kind of goes against the whole concept.

A special snowflake wants to be different and unique. So they find the different and unique things to play.

It's very difficult to really place what would make it odd. Weapon choice, fighting style, how they learned to fight, and the biggest thing: Physical appearance.

Most times you spot it by the out of the ordinary hair color, eye color, or defining characteristic.

Is any of that bad? No! Not at all. I have characters that fall under many of these categories.

The point of knowing whether a character is a special snowflake is how it is presented. When it gets annoying or disturbing, that is when it becomes a special snowflake. When the character has to constantly profess and proclaim their uniqueness or difference, that is a special snowflake.

There is no underlining example really. The definition of "Special Snowflake" is a person who believes themselves to be different or unique. That pretty much explains it.

I mean a person could argue all day what is "different" or "normal" but that's where it becomes opinion. Which leads to what I was saying just before.

There is nothing wrong with any of the things that some people define as characteristics of a "Special Snowflake", it is when it becomes disturbing, outlandish, or overall annoying that is normally labeled.

At least that's how I see it.
