Calling all remote sales professionals -- how much do you make?

SaaS ain’t what it used to be, I’ll tell you that. You’ll hear the good stories from the few lucky people who find honey pots and the old timers living in the good ‘ol days. I’d keep your job if that’s what you’re making, a lot of people who have been in SaaS for longer aren’t making that base.

Also, post-Covid, if you’re not selling “need to have” software and are selling something that’s actually interesting, you’d better be Navy Seal level disciplined with Bill Clinton level charisma if you actually want to see decent returns. My AEs can’t sell shit right now.

As a young guy, I’m a BDR with a fresh comp structure that should put me next year at right about $100k fairly easily. 9 months from now Im taking an AE job doing that until I hit any sort of a honey pot and then peaceing the fuck out of SaaS to get an MBA and find something better.

It sounds crazy but this industry is turning blue collar. These SaaS companies buy each other’s own bullshit and always think it’s safer to invest in some new tech to “better” enable you through automation rather than just offering better pay and hiring competent people. The thing is I work for a really well funded high growth startup too with a morally righteous executive team, they just get squeezed by their board to deliver and the whole industry is in a race to the bottom.
