The biggest issue I have with this mindset, which so many on the left seem to adopt, is that you are simply smearing decent peoples achievements (yes, believe it or not, most people would call defeating the nazis and winning a world war an achievement). The main logical issue you adopt is comparing anyone born before 1900 to anyone born after. There wasn't a single good person born before 1900 by todays standards. Not a single one. Not only this, though, but they would, most likely, be regarded as absolute scum of the earth, once of the worst people. Probably your grandads grandad. Probably mine. Because when you're so busy worrying if your child is going to randomly drop dead because of that cut on their finger, you tend to forget so much about humanitarianism.
