The Campaign is Good / Sucks / Meh - Debate

Good and bad points but overall I'm enjoying the campaign.

I do find the hero missions tedious and they aren't my cup of tea but these types of maps were never my fav, even in WC2 or SC1. On the plus side the hero maps are challenging and once I realized you lose score from deaths there is more pressure not to screw up (which is nice cause that is totally a TAB feel from survival mode). I do admit, hunting for tiny items for extra empire currency is frustrating.

I see people complaining about the tech tree and I understand it. Not being able to reset it is a "I'm used to starcraft 2" syndrome. Just like the survival mode the campaign provides a live with your choices/consequences aspect which I kinda like, since that's what this game is about. I will learn from my choices and change how I do the tech tree next time so I can try and work towards the highest score achievement. It does seem that rushing the tree is more important than anything else, also a tweaking of values might be better. Make earlier tech cheaper and later tech more expensive.

As for freemode objectives, I'm finding them just fine. You don't like tent spamming, then what have you been doing in survival mode? The first couple of missions are a bit tedious but the later ones are much more challenging especially with time limits and my poor tech tree picking :) Reaching X population isn't overall super inspiring but added with time limits (nightmare/brutal difficulty) the maps have been enjoyable with a don't screw up feel.

I absolutely hate the defend the tower mode, I will not try to justify or defend this mode at all. Nerf this into oblivion. I normally play 300-400% and can't even beat this on challenging.

TLDR - Good overall challenge and don't screw up feel like survival mode. Nerf or remove defend tower mode and do minor tech tree tweaking.
