Can an international film student get a job in the Canadian industry after graduating?

First of all working for cash is not illegal in Canada. That would be absolutely wild. I worked cash jobs all the way through high school, university, and a couple years after before actually registering and starting my business.

If you are bringing in a ton of cash/ income. YOU need to register your business obviously or risked getting taxed by the Canadian Revenue Agency. I have never in my life heard of the Canadian Revenue Agency deporting someone. CRA is actually very flexible and willing to work with its people because they understand financial situations can be extremely stressful.

However, You do not know the circumstances. Don’t be so quick to judge based on a short comment on the internet.

My friend works completely legally and none of these jobs were illegal and all were paid contacts with real business owners in the Vancouver area. Just because I said he’s from Mexico doesn’t mean he’s illegal.... what’s wrong with the world. SMH.

Canada is a good place! Lots of opportunities and easy to start working and create your own reality even as an foreign citizen.

Canada is a very fair place and we don’t just deport people for no reason or just trying to get by day to day. That being said make sure you follow all immigration process and you won’t ever have to leave the country. We actually welcome and help anyone who is struggling and will help you get on your feet. We want you here! And we want you here working and thriving! This is not the USA and any hater that downvotes this needs to take a look themselves in the mirror.
