Can anyone explain some of the dangers of haram transactions? Specifically riba

Riba is haram. So any food, cloths bought with it is haram as well. A person who sincerely prays to Allah, but all his cloths-foods are haram, his prayers are rejected. Body parts that got nutrition from haram means will burn in hell.

There's many aspect to severity of the crime of riba and one them is having zina with one's own mother.

An imam gave a good analogy for riba. Look at cows, they give birth to one calf at a time. But it gets proper care from farmer, lives a good life. There's plenty of cows in a region, no shortage of beef, milk. Millions of people get their need of dairy products met.

Now look at stray dogs. They give birth to many puppies at once. A few die at childhood. Some live upto adult age but live a miserable, dirty life. No food or shelter. Compared to the population of a city, there's very low amount of stray dogs. So all her puppies amount to nothing.

So riba is like stray dogs. In a short moment, it feels more. You get more money in mathematical term. But overall it leads to misery. There's no barakah in it.
