Yeah it always amuses me when racist non-desi people make snide digs that my family must be disappointed in me because I became a writer not a doctor, or when supposedly antiracist non-desi people accuse me for being a Modi stan when I suggest things like Kashmir being a centre/pan-nationalist vs. regionalist issue rather than Hindu vs. Muslim (a radical position to hold for both Indians and Pakistanis).

And I'm like, okay first of all, I'm Bengali so my family is thrilled that I became a writer, and secondly I'm Bengali (and lower caste at that), possibly the only community the BJP has more disdain for than Muslims.

Like seriously people, I don't care about you being prejudiced, but please do your homework first.
