Can Boston take Cambridge's planned approach to affordable housing? New 38-story, 454 ft. residential tower would be Cambridge's tallest (465 units; 20% affordable; 5% middle income)

You don't get to have it both ways. You don't get to be a good caring person but also one who "doesn't want to be around" those who are struggling. Hate might be a strong word, and maybe not the best one, but it's pretty obvious you don't give a shit about those not doing as well as you. They can disappear and die in horrible ways for all you care. You prioritize your comfort, and your feeble rationalizations to conflate that with helping the less fortunate via tax dollars is well, delusional at best.

Of course you are free to feel how you do, and you are free to live a lifestyle concerned only with your self and your personal comfort. That said, you share this city and this world with those who won't be as successful, and you can't make them go away. I don't care how successful you think you are, you don't have that power. The more you express that you don't want to be around those struggling, I expect the more they will make you feel their presence. That's human nature. People don't like being ignored and/or dismissed and when they feel like that they tend to react in ways I think you'd find even more unpleasant than what they are already doing that you might find distasteful.

So in essence what I'm saying is, better to just build some public housing (IN BOSTON and the surrounding towns, including YOUR neighborhood) to keep the less fortunate masses placated so they don't vandalize the shit you worked so hard for (or whatever they might do to fuck you up). It's all really in your interest. The alternative is a fascistic police state, which tbh I think you might actually be ok with, not realizing such a state can just as quickly turn on you as it protects you!
