Can you do chiropractic care instead of physical therapy before getting approved for an MRI?

I think I want to try a chiropractor instead of a physical therapist because I've never been in an accident or had surgery.

A physical therapist sees many patients who like you, have pain & have never been in an accident or had surgery. Seeing PT is often a requirement before getting an MRI for insurance purposes because their data suggests that it is helpful in reducing symptoms and MRI orders.

Not all insurances will cover chiropractors and their imaging orders, so call the number on the back of your card to find what you plan’s benefits for for PT and chiropractors. Your plan may also limit the number of PT appointments you have per year.
